Don't Allow Them To Take The Hope Scholarship

It’s time to move into action - here’s the deal! Governor Purdue with his ill-intended intentions is trying to find a way to make the Hope Scholarship much harder for our children to qualify; we cannot allow this injustice to take place. I feel it’s a concentrated effort to further deny our children the opportunity to higher education by making it harder for them to qualify for the scholarship. He wants the SAT, an already racially biased and controversial exam to account as a prerequisite for the HOPE Scholarship.

On top of that, he wants to take away payment for books and other allotments that make college affordable for more students who would otherwise be unable to attend. His reason being the HOPE scholarship fund is running out; I cannot comprehend how it’s running out. The lottery is very much alive and well; if it’s earmarked for the Hope Scholarship how is it running out of money? We must move into action, write, fax, call, email your representatives in Congress, and flood the Governor’s office with the same.

We cannot let this man take from us in the name of being just. Governor Purdue is not for the minority advancement as his record has proved; I’m still having a hard time figuring out how he went from governing Purdue’s Chickens to Governing the State of Georgia. Were we asleep or did we just NOT VOTE? This is something that can be fixed when the next election comes about, get out and vote, we cannot stand another term of Purdue’s chicken justice.
